By integrating the wand into our practice, we have been able to provide patients with pain-free appointments. This pen-like handpiece and device administer anesthetics directly where it is needed without an injection. The device properly manages the flow and volume of the anesthesia during treatment, and ensure precision and accuracy in the area of treatment. Topical numbing agents are used to initially numb the injection site before the wand is even inserted into the mouth.
Another problem with traditional anesthetics administered by a needle is not only pain but the fact that the tissues may be numbed for sometimes hours after the appointment, causing patients to experience difficulty speaking or cause them to drool. This can make it difficult to get back to work, school, and other activities immediately after a dental visit.
